BRITISH MUSEUM MEMORIAL
The British Museum has some sections of a monumental brass or palimpsest from Trunch Church. They are dated 1473, were made in Flanders and are associated with Walter Brownyng and his wife Melicent. This was a common surname in Trunch until the 1700s. Apparently the brasses (or bronzes) were purchased by a Mr. Bayfield in 1855 and his daughter Miss F J Bayfield gave them to the British Museum in 1903.
